posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Manga centering on Date Masamune launched in 2013

The December issue of Kadokawa's Dengeki Maoh magazine is publishing the last chapter of Motoki Yoshihara's Sengoku Basara 4 manga on Tuesday. The magazine will also reveal that Kadokawa will publish the manga's third and final compiled book volume on November 27.

The manga adapts CAPCOM's Sengoku Basara 4 game, which features warriors and warlords from Japan's Warring States period. Yoshihara's manga centers on Date Masamune, the warlord of Tōhoku, but also features Ishida Mitsunari, Shima Sakon, and Shibata Katsuie.

Yoshihara launched the manga in Dengeki Maoh in December 2013. Kadokawa published the manga's second compiled book volume in December 2014.

Yoshihara also recently concluded another manga based on Sengoku Basara 4 titled Sengoku Basara 4 - Bontenmaru-hen on August 31. Yoshihara launched the manga in the fourth volume of Kadokawa's Sengoku Basara Magazine in February 2014. The manga also centered around Date Masamune, but in his childhood years ("Bontenmaru" was the real-life Date Masamune's childhood name). Kadokawa published the manga's first and only compiled book volume on September 25.

CAPCOM released the Sengoku Basara 4 PlayStation 3 action game in Japan in January 2014, and released a high-definition version of the game that celebrates the series' 10th anniversary titled Sengoku Basara 4 - Sumeragi on July 23 for the PlayStation 4. The game is getting a stage play adaptation in January-February.

The franchise inspired three television anime series and Sengoku Basara - Samurai Kings: The Movie.
