Since I see Nippon Animation mentioned in there, does this mean there's a chance for World Masterpiece Theater anime being legally streamed with English subs? I would pay good money for that!!

I can't wait for the Japanese corps to once again completely miss the point, edit their own works into oblivion, throw up paywalls & see pirate streams of the unaltered content continue to proliferate. *Sighs*

I haven't seen this issue be worse from JP compared to US companies...especially editing.
Anyway I'm glad they're listening to a suggestion we gave them 10 years ago

I hope, that they don´t use the subtitle-function from youtube.

Would be great if they released all these anime legally on Youtube for everyone around the world to enjoy, but being realist, I am pretty sure that will not happen and most, if not all, of these titles will once again be region locked to just US and possibly Canada (along with possibly Taiwan and Hongkong, doubt they'll make it available in mainland China, due to many censorship issues there). I've got burned like this too many times in past that I am sceptical, especially since the company itself is from US.

If we could FINALLY get a legally stream for Future Boy Conan (which is coincidentally already on youtube for years but is not official) in North America, that would be amazing.

Pokemon, Beyblade and Yugioh, are like the only anime that still get localized dubs and the last Yugioh show didn’t get on American TV.

Somehow I don't think the inability to watch Future Boy Conan is driving the demand for illegal videos.

Sunrise has been doing this with their channel GundamInfo, which has been uploading all the recent Gundam series

The view numbers on bootleg streaming sites would agree with you; they're dominated by the mainstream/popular/airing anime that is (dependent on region) legally available, not the old/obscure stuff that's either expired or never been licensed.

But it did on Canadian TV
And to be fair, Pokémon nowadays is pretty close to the original Japanese script. So close, in fact, that when Misty reappeared in SM, her characterisation was noticeably different, because TPCI ignored changes in her character 4Kids did. The only thing Pokémon dub still changes is the BGM. And AFAIK, the new Beyblade series are the same and even keep the original Japanese BGM, but I honestly can't tell for sure, since I don't care that much for the new Beyblade anime. And even though I did not see the new VRAINS dub, from what I've heard, even Konami kept it much closer to the Japanese script then the previous series, even keeping references to death and such.

I don't visit bootleg streaming sites myself, though I do download the occasional torrent. Usually I want to obtain a clean raw that I can use to make avatars. The index pages on torrent sites are full of fansubs for current series.
I'm more in the "Conan" group myself. I think the last complete series I downloaded was a recent fansub of the 2000 adaptation by Madhouse of Tezuka Osamu's Hidamari no Ki.

Hopefully, they eventually make the channel available worldwide. Limiting it to select countries will only increase piracy.

There exists a problem of illegal video distribution service these days, but “AnimeLog” will distribute only officially licensed animations and operate as a safe channel that families can enjoy together. |
Whelp, if it's a channel that families can enjoy together, that'd exclude most popular anime these years, so there goes the fight against bootlegs

Skeptical they can pull it off, but wish them the best. Curious for dubbing though.
