TOP TEN BEST POP TEAM EPIC EPISODE REVIEWS ON ANN
(in chronological order)
  • The basic PTE review, vanilla, trite. I was green then, so I had not yet fully grasped the task ahead of me. It would be hard enough to think about what to say about this show every week – even harder to have to come up with different gimmicks. So I had a few basic topics lined up to start with. The beginning of the end. Grade: B-

  • I don't remember much about this one. Grade: Huh?

  • This one was pretty fun to write. The earlier poems are better than the later ones, because I put more effort into them. I'm proud of that limerick/Tim and Eric rhyme. Grade: 4.5/5

  • Those weird Toy Story images were all placeholders for something more ambitious, but wrangling all of those images turned into a huge pain and I just decided to leave them in. Hopefully, my laziness passed as an intentional gimmick. I finished this during history class on Monday morning. Grade: ★★★★★★

  • The strain of reviewing Pop Team Epic really began to set in here. The “French B-side” thing was the last really obvious, easy-to-execute gimmick I could think of, so beyond this point I had to really let loose and get serious. I did want to “review” Pop Team Epic by speaking its own language before the end, and I think there were points where I succeeded, but this review is one of the weaker ones. Fun fact: the “French” B-side isn't actually the same text as the A-side. It's actually an earlier version of the piece that I had to rewrite and then shove through several layers of Google translate. Grade: 7.8, too much franch

  • I got sick one week and had to do a two-in-one. The faux-YouTube-reaction video was something I'd wanted to do from the beginning, but I'd been saving it for the most optimal moment. But then that Nor'easter cut off my internet for the entire weekend, so I had to record the whole thing at the local library. Yes, I did this in public. There weren't as many comments on the video as I'd have liked, but I guess that's what I get for the shoving it onto the B-side of a late review. I really couldn't breathe in that thing, and I just left it behind after I was done. (Hopefully some kid enjoyed it, by which I mean they enjoyed dunking it into the garbage.) I'm playing Fate/Grand Order at the end there – I think it's a squad of Gilgamesh/Kintoki/Kintoki. Grade: SSS

  • The Hoshiiro Girldrop one was a ton of fun to write, and I can't believe that I only had the idea to do this gimmick a few hours before I started writing. It's kind of a no-brainer, but my brain isn't entirely there all the time. I was once again able to display my abilities as a seer by correctly predicting Sosogu's status as a memory clone. Also, all of my friends yelled at me for that B-side. Grade: B^U

  • Allen Ginsberg showed up in my dreams last night and told me to fuck off so I think this bit worked. Otherwise, the cat's name is Loki and he doesn't usually like being touched, so this is a very rare and special picture. Grade:(Φ ω Φ)

  • I'm writing about myself writing about myself in this review right now whoaaaaaaaaā̸̬͙͓͓͙̥̣̫̗͎̈́͑͗̒͂̈́̾͛a̳̱̫̼̻͈̝͚̱͖̽̂́͐͡a͎̖̲̩̗̩̤̜͈̍̾͑̃̎͢a͙̟͍͈̱̺͎̣̻̓̀̽̅̀̉͡͠ͅǎ̶̧̢̢̱̦̼̠̘̊̇̋̀̿͆͊͟͜ą̶̱̮̗̺̘͊̇̇͂̇͌̂͘͠ą̢̨̛̰̙̜̞̣̘́̀̽̕à̧̧̛͖͙̭͙͔̲͑͋̓̃̉͌̕͝a̸̙̟͕̬̠̞͎̓̃̑̀͐͜͠ͅâ̶͈̞̗̟͓͉̽̑̂͐̅͋a̶̡̨̢̬͇̱̥̩̹̤͒̉̑͑̋̊̊̀̍͞a̧̡̹͔̩͐͗̍̌͜͝a̵̞͔͇̳̰͎͌͂́̑̒͑̌̇̍a̢͇̙̙͉̦̪̯̾̽̑̓̏̋̌͂͜͡ Grade: Inception

  • There were only nine write-ups, so just go watch The Canipa Effect's video on Pop Team Epic's production for the tenth. It's great, comprehensive, and even features a decent dose of that shitpost spice. Grade: A+

Grade: FINISHED
