Persona's Shoji Meguro Reveals Guns Undarkness Game

Ilya Kuvshinov designs characters, Lotus Juice writes lyrics for stealth RPG

Shoji Meguro revealed on Saturday the he is developing the Guns Undarkness game. He is the game's developer, designer, and composer.

Kodansha Creators' Lab describes the game:

"Guns Undarkness" is a "Stealth RPG" that combines typical stealth game features such as remaining undetected and invading antagonist's territory, with the traditional command type JRPG.
The gameplay is roughly divided into two parts: a stealth part that hides on the field and a battle part that is developed by a turn-based command-type battle system. Encountering without being found by the enemy allows you to enter the battle in an advantageous manner. Aim for the depths of the antagonist's territory while managing your resources well.
The main weapons of the protagonists are firearms such as hand guns and assault rifles. By defeating enemies and obtaining materials, you can customize the equipped gun more powerfully.

The company also describes the story:

The story takes place in the year 2045, in a devastated world after a nuclear war, where you become a member of a PMC (Private Military Company) and carry out missions with your peers. Amid fierce battles, the protagonists realize the “true love” that will lead humanity to a higher level of existence.

Lotus Juice is writing the lyrics for the songs in the game, and Ilya Kuvshinov (Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045, The Wonderland) is designing the characters. The game's Steam page is available now.

Meguro had revealed on October 27 that he left Atlus at the end of September. At the same time, he revealed that he is developing a new indie game through the Kodansha Game Creators' Lab initiative. He said he had been developing indie role-playing games by himself for the past five years under the pseudonym "Megarock."

Meguro is best known for composing numerous soundtracks to games in the Shin Megami Tensei series, especially the series' Persona spinoff games. He joined Atlus in 1995, and his first work with the company was with the first Persona game (titled Revelations: Persona in the West).
