Monster Hunter Rise Game's Trailers Reveal Expansion's New Monsters, PC Version's January 12 Launch

Monster Hunter Stories 2 game's trailer unveils new Monsties

CAPCOM revealed information and a new trailer during the Tokyo Game Show program for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, a new expansion for its Monster Hunter Rise game, on Thursday. The company introduced the expansion's new Elder Dragon Malzeno and the new Master Rank. The video revealed that Shogun Ceanataur from Monster Hunter 2 would return along with several other monsters from previous games in the series.

CAPCOM also unveiled a trailer for Monster Hunter Rise's PC version, and it reveals that the game will launch on PC via Steam on January 12, 2022. The version will get a demo on October 13. The game will feature 4K resolution, high-res textures, high framerates, optimized keyboard/mouse controls, voice chat, and ultrawide display. It will also include all content from the Nintendo Switch version up to November 2021.

In addition, Monster Hunter Rise will get a collaboration with CAPCOM's Ghosts 'n' Goblins Resurrection game and Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Ghosts 'n' Goblins' Arthur will be featured as a layered armor costume in a downloadble event quest.

CAPCOM also revealed a trailer for its Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin game. The video reveals and previews new Monsties that will become available in free title updates, including Molten Tigrex, Dreadking Rathalos, Gold Rathian, and Silver Rathalos.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak will debut for the Switch and PC via Steam in summer 2022. The expansion will have an all-new story, with new locations to visit, as well as new gameplay mechanics.

Monster Hunter Rise launched on the Switch on March 26.

The "Rise" in the title refers to hunter utilizing the verticality of the game's environment, as well as the developers' desire to build enthusiasm with many players around the world. The new Wirebug allows players to complete new actions and climb a variety of vertical locations. New monsters in the game include Magnamalo, Aknosom, Great Izuchi, and Tetranodon. New locations include the Shrine Ruins. The game's base is the village of Kamura, and the story features a rampage.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin launched worldwide for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on July 9. In the "story-driven RPG set in the world of Monster Hunter," players become monster riders to travel the world with monster companions and take on quests. The story begins with the mass disappearance of the Rathalos worldwide.
