Thunderful Acquires Rising Star Games Publisher

Game publisher Thunderful Publishing announced on Tuesday that it has fully acquired game publisher Rising Star Games. Thunderful Publishing will continue Rising Star Games' core business by publishing Japanese games in the West under the Rising Star Games label.
Thunderful Publishing's parent company was formed as the publishing arm of Thunderful Group, which itself was formed last December as a collaboration between developers Image & Form Games and Zoink Games.
Rising Star Games was formed in 2004 to publish Japanese games in Europe, Australia, and later, North America. It has published such titles as No More Heroes, Growlanser: Heritage of War, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Deadly Premonition, The King of Fighters XIII, Virtue's Last Reward, Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi, and Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, among others. The company took over the American publishing business of Marvelous AQL in 2012.
