Gantz Gets Pachinko Machine With CG Anime Footage
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Pachinko machine maker Kyoraku Sangyo began streaming two videos on Monday for its pachinko machine based on Hiroya Oku's Gantz manga. The character designs and the footage in the machine are based on the recent GANTZ:O CG anime film.
The pachinko machine became available in parlors starting on Tuesday.
The GANTZ:O film opened in Japan in October, but first premiered at the 73rd Venice Film Festival in September.
Keiichi Satou (Tiger & Bunny, Asura) was the chief director for the film, and Yasushi Kawamura (Appleseed: Ex Machina CGI director) directed the film. Tsutomu Kuroiwa (One Piece Film Gold script) wrote the screenplay, Yoshihiro Ike (Karas, Tiger & Bunny, The Empire of Corpses) composed the music, and Digital Frontier handled production.
Oku launched the original Gantz manga in Shueisha's Young Jump magazine in 2000, and he ended the manga in 2013. Shueisha published the 37th and final volume in Japan in August 2013.
