Intelligence Firm Estimate: Pokémon Go Has Earned More Than US$200 Million

Game surpassed 100 million downloads on Android

Mobile app data analysis organization Sensor Tower reported on Friday that it estimates the Pokémon Go app earned more than US$200 million worldwide on the App Store and Google Play during its first month.

Sensor Tower posted a chart (pictured below) comparing the Pokémon Go's estimated revenue for its first 32 days with that of Supercell's Clash Royale app, which launched worldwide on March 2, and King's Candy Crush Soda Saga app, which launched worldwide on November 11, 2014.

Unlike Clash Royale and Candy Crush Soda Saga, Pokémon Go initially launched in only a few countries, and has since expanded to others. The chart marks the day the game launched in Japan.

Sensor Tower also estimates an average daily usage of the app at 26 minutes per day. The app has reached 100 million downloads for Android alone.

The Pokémon Go app launched in select countries including the United States on July 6, and has since launched in more than 50 countries. The app is free to download but offers in-app purchases.
