Theatrhythm Dragon Quest's 2nd Promo Video Streamed

Rhythm game to arrive on March 26

Video game developer Square Enix revealed a new promotional video for its Nintendo 3DS rhythm game Theatrhythm Dragon Quest on Sunday. The video is a gameplay overview, going over the mechanics of the game while showcasing the soundtrack by composer Kōichi Sugiyama.

Square Enix streamed the first video in December:

Like the Theatrhythm Final Fantasy series, Theatrhythm Dragon Quest lets players "perform" well-known musical tracks from the Dragon Quest franchise.

A demo version will be available to download in eShop on March 11. Square Enix will then release the Nintendo 3DS game in Japan on March 26. First copies of the game will include a Nintendo 3DS theme based on the Dragon Quest II song "Love Song Sagashite."

Dragon Quest began as a role-playing game created by Yuji Horii, published by Enix, and released on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1986. It has since spawned a franchise that consists of multiple sequels, spinoff games, novels, manga, and two anime series that each ran for over 40 episodes. The franchise is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the first game's release next year. The latest games in the series is Dragon Quest X, an online role-playing game for the Wii U, and two spinoffs, Dragon Quest Heroes (a hack-and-slash for the PlayStation3 and PlayStation4), and Theathrhythm Dragon Quest (a rhythm game for the 3DS).
