Rapper Cardi B 'Likes It' in Japan in New Music Video
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
When she isn't throwing shoes at red carpet parties, rapper Cardi B is dropping infectious beats from her debut studio album Invasion of Privacy. The album was released earlier this year with the Latin trap song "I Like It," a summer hit that soared into the Billboard Top 10 within the first week of release.
In a push to repeat the success overseas, Warner Bros. Japan released a new, short music video for the track called I Like It [Japan Anime Edition]. The candy-colored concoction replaces Cardi B with a Bratz Doll version of herself as she explores the sights and sounds of Japan.
Ruka Noguchi both directed and designed the characters for the music video. She worked with fellow ODDJOB artist and animator Yasuhiro Yamashita to create the video.
Cardi B joins Jaden Smith, Kanye West, Wu-Tang Clan's RZA, and many others who combined Japanese pop culture with hip-hop music.
