Russian figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva has made no secret of her love for Yuri!!! on Ice. The skater regularly posts images from the anime series on her Twitter feed. An appreciative and observant fan apparently noticed her affection for the series and decided to give Medvedeva a special gift.

A fan tossed a giant plush rice ball to Medvedeva after her skate at the Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in Marseille, France on Saturday. The happy onigiri looks suspiciously like a present that protagonist Yūri Katsuki receives after a skate in the anime. Although many fans probably threw gifts to Medvedeva after her skate, she chose to pick up the rice ball herself and carry it back to wait with her for the scores.
Even Yuri!!! on Ice creator Mitsurou Kubo took notice of the fan's gesture. She said on Twitter on Saturday, "I don't know who threw the onigiri, but... Thank you...."
Medvedeva and her new stuffed friend have a lot to celebrate. The 17-year-old won her second women's title at the Grand Prix Final on Saturday. She earned 227.66 points, which is just shy of the 228.6-point record South Korean skater Kim Yu-na set six years ago. According to her Twitter account, the Russian skater is also excited about events in the tenth episode of Yuri!!! on Ice:

In the episode that debuted on December 7, Yūri and Viktor exchange couple rings and seem to get engaged. There is even a church in the background and appropriate music in the scene. As Medvedeva's hashtag indicates, sometimes fan dreams do come true.
