Finally. This is what I've been waiting for. Now I won't have to do that digital download crap that Viz is offering.

Sweet! Now all I have to do it catch up to the last vol. Glad that 'Viz' is getting this out. Now to slip this into the batch of things for my job. I'm sure students will be interested in seeing it. After all it's a great piece of drama.

A volume a month sounds good, but $25 per DVD seems a bit expensive to me >< Dunno, guess I'm used to the typical $20 pricing at places like Best Buy. Oh well. I'm pretty excited.

I think that's 25.00 MSRP, meaning that it is 5 dollars cheaper than a normal anime DVD at 30 dollars MSRP. Usually by the time you buy it it is discounted a fair amount. So at BB it may be 16-18 bucks instead of 20

Yes. I have been waiting for this too. I think it is great they are selling it on the cheap. And the every month bit is good too. I just hope they make sure they author it well and not rush too much.

Also a figure every month? Thats pretty much the whole cast.

I was kind of hoping to see 5 episodes on the first DVD, as that would've been more promising for those who want more value and a lower disc count. As it stands, we probably won't see this in 8 discs, as that would need to have 6 discs * 5 per disc + 1*4 + 1*3 = 37. So we could see

8*4 + 1*5 = 37 on 9, or
7*4 + 3*3 = 37 on 10, or
4*4 + 7*3 = 37 on 11, or in what would probably be worst case scenario,
1*4 + 11*3 = 37 on 12.

I was wondering when the DVD releases would start. I recently started reading the manga (a little letdown by it, but it's still interesting enought, I suppose) and have been curious about the anime. It might be November before I finish the manga (too many other series going), so works out conveniently enough for me and my Netflix queue.

The answer is easy you just have to know how many different characters figurines is possible to have and you will have the number of dvds. Laughing

All right, VIZ is giving this some kind of extravagant release, like I've always wanted...

All they need to do now is nail the DVD production down (which might need some guidance from fans)...

Uh... just head over to their site and e-mail to tell them what you want (good video qualit, soft subs, etc.); hell, we can all send the same e-mail message.

But yes... monthly release and LEs = WIN.

Now take into account the cost of buying all those DVDs.

9 discs - $225 reg, $360 LE
10 discs - $250 reg, $400 LE
11 discs - $275 reg, $440 LE
12 discs - $300 reg, $480 LE

I might just stick to the downloads $2 each for 37 eps = $74. I'm a dub fan, but I don't see it being worth 3 times as much to get the DVDs. I also don't have the shelf space to devote to (worst case) up to 12 cases for only one series.

I will be so happy on the day the anime companies begin to release anime like any other TV series in the US: one case, usually no more than 6 DVDs, priced (although this is probably too much to ask) at an average of $50. I think anime would sell so much better under those circumstances.
