Eventhough it hasn't came out in theaters yet I would like to see Kill Bill as an anime done by the same people who did Cowboy Bebop.

Romance of The Three Kingdoms would be good but a manga would do it more justice than an anime.

Shanghai Noon/Knights

The Silence of The Lambs Trilogy

Harry Potter

We've done a little of this speculation before. However, the thread dealt mostly with novels.

It is. It's also a manga and a manwa, a long-running Chinese drama, and probably all sorts of other things I'm not aware of.

(I'll let this thread exist because the old literary thread is a few months old, and rather than resurrect it, might as well just start anew.)

Off the top of my head:

Movie:

Matrix

Independence Day

Fifth Element

Dungeons and Dragons

Book:

Harry Potter

Eyes of the Dragon - Stephen King

Terry Brooks' Shannara series and Magic Kingdom of Landover series

Piers Anthony's Xanth novels and Incarnations of Immortality

Lord of the Rings

various other fantasy novels

and my novel, Kismet and Tell, since it was written to be anime-ish

Cool

The Vlad Taltos series by Steven Brust - Vlad is a human Assassin in a fantasy world. A very good Assassin.

Its hard for me to come up with anyhting else at the moment. One of the things that draws me to anime are alot of the stories. sometimes it is similar to something else but alot of times they are told in a unique way that I dont find them over done.

Maybe James Bond and Mission: Impossible. Or the Evil Dead movies, Gladiator Very Happy , Matrix, the movie, not some stuff about the Matrix like the Animatrix. Thats all I could think of at the moment.

Most of the movies that would make good/great anime were graphic novels or comic books (Kill Bill, Blade etc.). I think the Daredevil license would work good as an anime if they stick to the story line (I'm sorry, but I beleave that the movie skipped a very crucial and exciting part of the story, Matt's revenge.) Maybe Ender's Game would be good to convert.

The Animatrix is a collection of shorts commisioned by the creators of The Matrix from a variety of anime directors as well as the now-defunct Square USA and Peter Chung.

I think Terry Gilliam's Brazil would work well animated. If anything, it could be more wonderfully odd and baffling than it is now.

I think the core Dragonlance books would make for an amazing saga, but it's not exactly a new idea.

I say that if a book, movie, whatever is good the way it is....WHY MAKE IT INTO SOMETHING ELSE!?!?!?!

except with comics since they are just really cheap movies.

the Lord of the Rings books are good, Tolkien's dead, why take his work and chop it up to make a movie?

I don't like it when people take dead people creations and make something off of them to make money.

sorry for the rant. I just think that people should write for themselves.

They aren't stealing from them they’re just retelling the story in there own vision. I don't think there’s anything wrong with it unless they claim it as their own.

For some reason, I'd love to see an anime about america during the mid 1800's (Civil War era), although that may be because I just got done watching The Gangs of New York.
