its really strange that CR commissioned a Spanish, Portuguese, French, and German dub for Slime Diaries but not english dub.

My guess is that it is because Slime was one of several series where Funimation had the English rights. Slime Diaries is probably its own thing contractually, but I could see where Crunchyroll wouldn't have wanted to mess with that at the time. Now it's probably in the list of things that they're recording outside of simuldubs that will just show up completely dubbed one day.
