Seems about $10 too much for a typical AoA movie. AND it's a really short movie, so I'm actually a little surprised by this price point. Even with the OST, which is most likely going to be a pretty lame 10 tracks or so, this just seems like pushing it a bit too much. The Expelled from Paradise LE release was $50. I was definitely counting on a similar price point for this.

Expelled from Paradise vs Monogatari... there's your answer.

haha no. way too high of a price point for what equates to a two and a half episode ova. I love the monogatari series, but even for some die hard fans, that is a little much. I will wait till they put it on netflix like they do for most of their movies.

Ah, what the hell. The price is hilarious but the movie is a masterpiece. I'll preorder this from day one.

I am still buying this movie because I am a big fan of the Monogatari franchise, but I was hoping that Aniplex USA would release all Kizumonogatari movies in one set.

Not to me. I am okay paying $70 for a short movie.

Yeah, same. I do think this price is a little bit unusually high, even by their standards, and would have really liked a box set with all 3 of them(hell, they took so long on this, that I thought maybe they were waiting to release them all together!), but I'm already way too far into this to stop now. They obviously know that's how a lot of people are going to feel.

Eh, most of my Monogatari singles were also $50 with 5 episodes, or roughly 120 minutes of content. This is still rather high. AoA has generally been pretty consistent with their pricing for the last 3 years or so. It appears they are raising them a little bit now though, Erased, Asterisk War, etc.

I'm shocked we are getting this movie as earlier as we are I thought they wouldn't talk about a release until all 3 where out. Instead we are getting the first movie before the 2nd movie gets a usa theater release. I would of liked them to bundle the first 2 and 80 dollars like the madoka movies and let the 3rd one with a soundtrack cost 70 dollars like madoka 3rd movie but instead all 3 will be 70 with a ost or bonus disc which is more than I thought they would be because they give monogatari barebone vol releases no dubs or japanese character commentaries (only bakemo has it) even though each japanese release has those commentary tracks.
This isn't high for AoA look at the old madoka vols. 90 dollars for 4 eps or the 3rd sao2 set 3 eps for 60 dollars. The eps to cost sucks vs other companies and now their packaging and extras is getting to be as bad. The new Erased has a cheap digi pack instead of blu ray cases and their disc and packaging art is plain sucks too because I like the show but I won't buy erased and show them with my money. Sadly I'm to deep in the rabbit hole with monogatari not buy these movies and last 4 vols or the show...

I'm like you I'm okay with it because we are getting it pretty early also back in 2012 I believe this show would of never got pick up by funi or sentai so it would of been a lost gem like Zetsubou Sensei which I can only own in crappy qua on my hdd with fansubs

Aaaaaaaaaaand still no dub. I'll pass - again. I mean really, how do they expect us to watch a popular anime without a dub???

they already have 3 people who could reprise their roles from the audio book of kizumono Its more, will AoA spend money for a dub. I too would like to see a dub, since the translation team at vertical did a great job with kizumono

Not to kick you while you're down, but you really missed out. Hopefully you have a nice home theater set up, or know someone who does, because you'll really want to see this on the biggest set up possible when the BD comes out. I'm definitely planning a marathon of all 3 with my buddies whenever the last one comes out.

Lol, Admittedly, I would be amused to see a dub of the Monogatari Series, though I really don't expect them to put resources toward something like that. I imagine the vast vast majority of people looking into this series(or release) are going to be okay with subs anyway.

If bakemonogatari the first one came out in 2015 it might of got a dub because AoA is learning dubs sell more and now they are dubbing alot of their titles
