I'd like to propose something for ANN. How about you guys have printable versions of your reviews,columns,whatever. Even for the forums. If something terrible happens to someone's file or post on file here,they can go to the printed out version of it and get it restored. Also,people can print out their favorite parts of ANN and put it somewhere where they can go back and read it whenever they want. Is this a good idea or what?

@Snomaster1

It is not at all difficult to print from ANN. I do it frequently.

Open your word processor of choice in the background. Go to the review or article or what ever and highlight the text you want to print. Click copy. Switch to the word processor and click paste. You can print from there.

This has the advantage that you can change the font, add spaces or just edit the text. You can save it as a word processing file or print it which ever you prefer.

It works the other way as well. If I have an involved post to make, I compose it in MS Word and copy to the forum. It goes in as plain text so you have to format a bit, but this allows you to compose posts offline.

I agree that a printer friendly version of the content is a desirable feature for any professional web site, but I do not know how much extra work that it would be. I have never actually tried to write one.

I have done what Alan45 suggests, but usually only when I want to save the text as a file, rather than just printing it. My preferred method for printing web pages is the Print Edit add-on for Firefox.

I think that Snomaster1's suggestion is a reasonable one, if it is not too difficult to implement.

Smile Thanks,Tempest. I appreciate that. I've been to a number of other websites and they have printable versions of some of their stuff. I've even been at another anime website called "Akemi's Anime World" which has printable versions of posts in their forums as well. I thought that it would work well here,too. I think it's a pretty good idea. I hope it comes to pass here. Smile Idea
