Wouldn't be surprised if the opening cutscene involved the 'recycled animation' they use to open episodes when they don't have enough footage.

Okay, the anime is merely taking a break. It'll be back. As for the manga, it's probably an arc where the characters try to stop the manga from ending (and hopefully succeed). Gintama isn't ending any time soon. |

All the serialized plot threads are in the process of being wrapped up, and the manga is currently in major endgame mode. I'd be fine with the series concluding its overarching story and shifting the focus back to episodic comedy, but I doubt that's going to be the case. While working on the Shogun Assassination Arc, Sorachi claimed that preparations to end Gintama were underway, and in light of everything that's happened since that arc, I'm inclined to believe him. |

Sorachi actually stated that it will enter it's final arc this year but isn't sure if its ending this or next year. |

I'm kind of torn in what to believe and what not to believe. It's not like he hasn't stated that he's "ending" the series before now, so it could be another whim announcement. On the other hand, he's in serious-arc mode, which might make the comment legitimate. I'm really hoping it's the former. As much as I like the serious arcs and plotlines, I honestly don't mind switching back to a pure comedy like before. It's not like it was following any pattern, so the comedy could be something he could make up as the series goes.
But maybe he's tired of it and wants to start something new. If that's the case, I look forward to his new title, but he'll always be known for Gintama in my eyes. |

I'm aware this is a bit old, but here's hoping someone knows:
I believe the app is out now and I'd like to try and play it (I do have a Japanese phone with a Japanese ios account) but I'm unable to find the game - was anyone able to find it? I typed in "銀魂かぶき町” and nothing but a quiz and a news thing showed up. Any ideas? |
