Sadly I expect the experience would ring somewhat hollow.
As we all know, Patlabor outshines its contemporary mecha mainstays not through its hardware but its minutiae. Its most grown-up of charms reside in elements as small as an idle conversation between characters, or even a simple exchange of loaded glances. At its best it is a show about personalities rather than pilots, an asset no bus tour can hope to capture. |
