Well they filled in some of Conan's non legal gap at least. 6 episodes down, over 600 to go. Now Conan is split over three sites. Good thing I have subscriptions all of them. Not getting there any time soon though, as I'm like 400 episodes behind that.

The visual still has case closed but they do have it listed Detective Conan. On another note, they seem to have abandoned the Japanese episode numbers entirely, numbering their episodes 1-52. Maybe it's a technical issue but all I'll say is "Oi Oi" |

i guess These are the more newer episodes without dubs after Funi gave up on dubbing the rest of Case closed, i would've preferred if Netflix putted the dub eps but oh well... |

Hopefully this will lead to some of those earlier episodes (200s, 300s) being available later.

I gave up on wanting more dubs years ago. I liked Funimation's version a lot and they did a good job, but it's clear they thought the series was not worth more time and money.
What hurts was the lack of subbing support afterwards. I've yearned for the rest of this series to be officially streamed by SOMEBODY! Crunchyroll and Netflix getting the series is great news. It's a step forward in the right direction. The only thing that worries me about Netflix is the rights to their content seem to expire quicker than other sites. Also they might exclude seasons from some animated shows (minor examples: Yu-Gi-Oh, Inuyasha, Young Justice). Obviously rights issues, but it's annoying. I would have thought Hulu gets it before Netflix, since Hulu is pretty big on anime. The site that starts streaming the huge gap between Funimation's episodes and the 750's would have my money for the foreseeable future. I assume Crunchyroll is still the best bet for this. I know you can't release 600 episodes overnight, but I do wish somebody would get started on it. I've been patient enough... ! |

I've literally sat in the same room as a Detective Conan producer twice (most recently last year) during discussions about the anime and other things which noted how any fans in the room of the anime would almost definitely not be ones which watched the TV anime legally.
I'm happy enough to put down the money for Netflix right now to get some Conan on even if I have a lot of problems with the TV anime adaptation even up to the 100th episode. Super glad the UK isn't being left out for once. Crunchyroil let me down and FUNimation only have a few things on Youtube (even trailers!) which they will let me watch.
Literally hundreds of episodes, over a dozen movies, tons of TV specials and so on which FUNimation never dubbed (in all of which there were adjustments which made the experience worse outside of any bias I could hold against the voices thanks to TMS). Sure, I'd go for the English option on paper if I was a large company trying to reach a big audience with Detective Conan and I doubt Netflix will even get close to covering all of the material I mentioned |

One of these days I hope that these streaming channels will put together a package of the 40/750 episodes of Detective Conan that actually progress the overarching plot. I don't really mind missing earlier episodes because most people who watch Conan are aware that not much actually happens. Conan is more about individual episodes than it is about serialization.

You're clearly not aware of this but the anime is 50% anime original cases. You can't skip the non-AO's because they tend to connect to the overarching storyline every case. Sure they can put the episodes where the story is the main focus but all the build up (from first story arc to the current one) happen during the normal cases, but looking at the series' main target audience being detective fiction geeks, all I can say is just watch the non-AO's. It's not crime thriller. |
