Somehow it looks worse than Operation Raccoon City. Capcom better make remake of Outbreak if they want piece of multiplayer market.

Remember when Resident Evil was about survival-horror? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

what happened to Resident Evil franchise?
it started off as a solid survivor horror video game franchise..
now its all about the action...
and those god-awful Paul W. Anderson movies...
what a waste...

The downfall of the series is generally attributed to the failure of Resident Evil remake for the GameCube. According to the story, the remake's failure is why Capcom decided to take the series in a more action oriented direction. Then the success of Resident Evil 4 paved the way for more action over puzzle solving and hording ammo.
I stopped caring about Resident Evil. For me, the series ended with 5 with Wesker's death. Any attempts to revive it after your main antagonists are gone is just silly. Personally, I'd love to see another Outbreak game because I loved those, but there's no way a game like that would work in today's market. People want online shooters, not online co-op survival.

Yeah, I remember 1996, too bad RE wasn't a true survival horror since then.

Probably would've been avoided had they not released it only on the GameCube. Though in retrospect it probably would've gotten stale like Silent Hill had it kept heading down the path on survival horror.
