Another season? Oh boy...

And this one will probably run in the same format as the first season based on my guess.

Quite surprising considering the reception this had. Guessing this was planned from the start.

I'm happy, at least. I've been watching Crystal and the original at the same time and I've glad I can keep up doing it this way.

So we'll be getting Crystal S then...... maybe Saturn will get a Henshi sequence this time around.

Wait, why is it considered another series? Won't the same series just keep going? Is there going to be a season gap or something?

Just found this news out on Twitter moments ago.
It seems that the appearances of Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune are possibilities now.

The series was originally announced last year as having 26 episodes so if this actually happens, we can treat this as a (real) second season the same way that most treat episodes 52-97 of Saint Seiya Omega despite that show not having a break between arcs.

Kind of looking forward to this more now? I thought the 90's Infinity arc was particularly strong, so I was holding out for Crystal's version of Sailor Moon S, but I thought for sure they'd quit after the Black Moon arc. I have to admit, the writing might drive me up the wall at times, but the production values seem to be on the upswing, such as they are; I hope that trend continues.

I wonder how many episodes it'll have? Especially considering there are three arcs left.

The Dream Arc (SuperS) has a lot of side stories in the manga, and I almost wonder if they'll be utilized so they can spread that arc over two seasons (a la Crystal 2 - Infinity Arc (S) and Dream Arc (SuperS) Part 1, Crystal 3 - Dream Arc (SuperS) Part 2 and Stars Arc. Hell, the materials that the S Movie were based on could probably be adapted into an additional 4 episodes too.

That, or they could go the Yowamushi Pedal route and order a 39 episode second season to adapt the rest of it, or possibly end with the Dream Arc which would be disappointing tbh.

I think they'll cap it at 26. They've been following a very strict 1:1 ratio in terms of episode:manga chapter, and there are only 52 chapters total. Perfect for two 26 episode-long seasons total.

Wonderful news! I just really want the bare minimal of them doing all the seasons. Hopeful for SuperS and Stars.

No, there are 60 chapters, the anime has been following both 2003 & 2013 editions of the manga which has the same amount of chapters as in the original Nakayoshi magazine run so if they do 26 more episodes then unless they animate some short stories, it would be ending at Act 3 of Stars.

The original serialization was 52 chapters, but so far Crystal has been following the chapter format from the published Volumes, which has 60 chapters. (Wikimoon has a side-by-side-comparison). And the Dream Arc ends with Chapter 49. So either they'll have to make an adjustment somewhere or they'll do an uncommon number of episodes.

I just hope that Season 2 of Sailor Moon Crystal won't be as riddled with animation issues as Season 1 when it makes its eventual home video debut.
