The same applies to Eva 3.3 and Ben-To (excess delays). |

the same applies to pretty much anything Funimation license, they seem to delay more series than they don't... but i guess i rather a delay and know i have a decent quality WORKING disc over encountering problems.

If there's an error on the disc, people get mad. If the product gets delayed, people get mad. You can't win either way.
At least they're trying to solve the problem before it hits the market. |

From what I can tell, this is an error with the manufacturers, not with FUNimation themselves.
As it just so happens, GitS Arise got delayed by a week as well for a similar reason. Something must have happened at the factory where the discs are made that set them back a bit. |

Is there even a date for Evangelion 3.3? Don't think it can even be said that Evangelion 3.3 is delayed, rather it is just in limbo. |

Rojas explained on the latest FUNimation livestream that EVA 3.33's delays are due to Studio Khara taking a personal interest in the project. They apparently wanted to add some of their own subtitles, make some changes to the dub, and a few other things that he remained vague about. He said there's still a lot of work that needs to be done on it, but that it should be something really special once it does finally come out. As for Ben-To and Sankarea, they do have the final materials for those and should be releasing them in early 2015. |

This is the kind of information I wish FUNimation would just mention on their blog - is the only way they answer questions and do outreach is through social media (when people ask) and livestreams (when fans ask). Shouldn't these be things you post on your website on the product pages and things you tell retailers as soon as you know about these things? Regardless, I'm glad to see they're putting more effort into the dub - it sounded really off when I saw it in theaters originally. |

Well eva 3.33 was delayed by what seems to be soon a year, so what is 2 extra weeks by comparison

Funimation is a professional company that sets its own release schedule. These kind of issues she be fixed well before it gets this far. And if they are not capable then schedule the original release further back in the first place. Plus its not like this is want time situation with Funimation, this is starting to be their MO, which is also why a lot of people are starting to view them as Togashi and his hiatuses, just another part of life. |
