I think there has been confusion over which Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series is which. The anime that was released in Japan under the title Yu-Gi-Oh! is not the anime that was released as Yu-Gi-Oh! in the U.S., that being the anime that was released as Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters in Japan. The fact that Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters was released as just Yu-Gi-Oh! outside Japan seems to have caused a lot of confusion.

The first problem I noticed where the two series seem to have been confused is that ANN is currently showing episodes from Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters (via Hulu), but those episodes are linked from the page of the first Yu-Gi-Oh! anime. The episodes should instead be linked from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters page. Furthermore, a large banner image of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters was added to the page of the first Yu-Gi-Oh! series, but it should be on the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters page. If there was previously an image actually from the first Yu-Gi-Oh! series, that should be restored. Also, the link to the encyclopedia entry for the series from the video page for the letter Y needs to be changed so that it goes to Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters instead of the first Yu-Gi-Oh!.

The second problem I noticed is that I think most if not all of the non-Japanese credits listed on the first Yu-Gi-Oh! series page may actually go with the second series. Wikipedia claims that the first series was never released outside of Japan. I don't know if that is true, but it looks like the credits list some characters I don't think appear in the first series (e.g. Pegasus). I'm not 100% certain the non-Japanese credits are wrong, but unless they give a good source, I would doubt all of them. For the English credits in particular, it looks like Joseph Shalack listed himself as having worked on the first Yu-Gi-Oh! anime (the source given is "I worked on it"), but I believe he is confused. Based on the things credited to him, he seems to have been a 4Kids employee, but 4Kids did not release the first Yu-Gi-Oh! anime. Again, I think all the non-Japanese credits for the first anime series may be wrong, but that one in particular I think must be wrong.

One other thing I noticed is that the first Yu-Gi-Oh! anime has been viewed/rated by more people than Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters. This makes me believe that probably the vast majority of those views/ratings for the first series are by people who mistook it for the one released in the U.S. and other countries outside Japan. I don't know if anything can be done to fix this or if the ratings for the first Yu-Gi-Oh! series will just have to be permanently inaccurate.

Another problem (which isn't really an encyclopedia problem but I'll mention it here while I'm posting) is that the episodes are completely out of order on the video page for the anime. It looks like the episode labeled as episode 1 there is actually episode 50, and the rest of the episodes seem to neither go in any order nor match the episode number listed for them. I don't know if that is ANN's fault, or Hulu's fault, or 4-Kids fault, but it should probably be fixed if possible. Since that isn't really an encyclopedia problem, if you think I should make a separate post about it on the Bugs and Technical Questions page, let me know (I just want to make sure the right people who could fix that problem become aware of it, since I'm assuming the encyclopedia editors can't fix video page problems).

True, but the Chief Encyclopedist is also the Webmaster.

I can confirm that the anime series known only as Yugioh never featured Pegasus. I've had the chance to find episodes of it. Aside from a few filler episodes, Yugioh features only the Shaadi, Death-T (first encounter with Kaiba) and Bakura (Monster World) arcs of the first few volumes of the manga.

I'm still hoping that someone can fix this. It especially bothers me that there is that big banner at the top of the older Yu-Gi-Oh! series with 4Kids logo on it, even though it is an anime that 4Kids never licensed.

The large banner is not editable from my end. That and all large banners indicate ANN has its streaming right(s), which I can't even watch, not to mention editing or managing.

*sigh*
Yeah, the Yu-Gi-Oh! situation has been messed up for quite a while. I've changed the names to "Yu-Gi-Oh! (TV 1998)" and "Yu-Gi-Oh! (TV 2000)". It will probably make people even more confused, but (hopefully) less likely to think the first series was the one released in the US. I also moved the videos to Duel Monsters, but it seems Hulu has the episode numbering re-start at 1 for each season, and there's nothing I can do about that.

Not sure if or how I should fix the ratings. I'm sure there are *some* in those 1465 Yu-Gi-Oh! ratings which are actually for the first series.
