Why? I think the hardcovers are beautifully designed and would lose something in the transition to paperback. Besides, if you do some shopping around, you can get the books at near-TPB prices. I for one think more companies should put out manga in a hardcover format.

The TBP might be half the price, but it's also half the size, I think about 200 pages.

The Current HC edition are amazing and you can pretty much snag them up at Amazon for 16 dollar. Order 2 Buddha and get free shipping.

I've seen the hardcovers, and they don't look any different than Phoenix or GITS, in terms of size.
