I'm still not sure this show is an anime It's not even animated, It's more like a really long motion comic.

Brb, gonna let the people at AniPages know that Eiichi Yamamoto's Belladonna of Sadness is not an anime because not every strand of hair bounces when characters move.

I keep telling myself I'll watch this, I just wonder if I can resist the urge to puke while watching. I don't know if I can do that, maybe one of these days...

This show thrown me off guard with the quality of drawing and the stylish figures. It feels like the era, and even so disturbing with gore and violence because let's say the laws and way of life back then were not a fairy tale, it does give a story about the warlord and its people. The ambiance and everything kept me on the edge.

If you give it a chance and sit through the 13 episodes (its actually quite short if you skip the intro's endings, basically only 15 minutes per episode), you'll find it quite an inspiring work of art....
