Hey everyone,
All my lists and their contents are gone upon recovering my password. I did some googling: perhaps I just encountered the same or similar bug another person encountered and described here a year ago: animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3163751 Description of my case: I haven't logged in in a couple of months or so. Which is why used the password recovery option. Upon logging (detailed description below, involved some unneeded steps which perhaps is what caused the bug) in, I find all my lists and their contents and ratings gone. I've had had(?) my account for at least 12 years. And my username has automatically changed from "beast" to "anime expert" (which was a handle I used to use on 4chan, 10 years ago - but never here). Detailed description of the exact steps I took: Using Firefox, I clicked the password recovery link. Which opened a new tab where I was able to choose a new password. Before choosing a new password, I used the very same password recovery URL (copy pasted it) and opened said URL in the Microsoft Edge Browser - which worked (to somewhat of an extent of a surprise). I then used the opened page on Firefox to automatically generate a password, using the password generator feature of your website (named "Auto-generate a strong random password"), which created a long password with many characters. I don't know what caused all of this (password generator? using the same password recovery login link URL twice and/or in two different browsers? a combination thereof?) Here's a side-by-side screenshot: a pre-recovery Firefox tab on the top, a post-recovery Firefox tab on the bottom: https://i.imgur.com/WdPXfm7.png As you can see, lists and entries are gone ( untouched Is it possible to have the old version of my account (including lists, "seen" entries, Watchlist, ratings, username, forum posts, forum avatar) reinstated/recovered? Are these entries still somewhere? Perhaps in some sort of database backup?

I just realized that the 2nd screenshot in my post above (i.e. the one with the comparison) is showing "My Anime 2 (beta)" for the empty/bugged/post-recovery version of my account (bottom).
But, it's not that I generally confused "My Anime" for "My Anime 2 (beta)"; here is a screenshot showing "My Anime": https://i.imgur.com/Y6lEeeP.png I wasn't doing any importing/exporting. |

You recovered the wrong account. Probably you made an "anime expert" account using that email, then forgot about it, then made a new account "beast" with a different email and have been using it since. Try to recover using a different email you might have used. b*@*.ch |
