Here’s a thought—instead of remaking V, why not make new entries with the retro look & feel of 4/5/6?

Ok, but Kitase literally just answering a question the interviewer asked of him. So I don't know what point of this comment is. |

There goes my hopes and dreams... Seriously though- I was hoping for FF6 to get the remake treatment if they did another one. :l |

Because A)That’d be lazy B) They’re been releasing ports and remasters that essentially do this. C) Does anyone really talk about FF4 the after years? |

Not really, octopath is a saga game, with all the pitfall that entails. |

Well, vi ranked third after vii which is already getting a remake and after X whichis not that old, so when they finish vii maybe they will remake vi. http://novacrystallis.com/2020/02/the-top-10-final-fantasy-games-according-to-japans-nhk-poll/ |

I second this, and then give the second disc the finished love it deserved. |

Do they still have the rights? I'm not sure what happened to those with the xenosaga side. |

I would dig a FFV remake. I feel they can add more while still retaining the original charm/elements. Plus its not that heavy in trying to recreate like I would imagine FFVI to be.

I think Square still owns the rights to Gears. I always find it a little confusing because there is 3 different Xeno Series, and I swear I read a long while back that Blade is a spiritual successor because Square still owns the rights to Gears. |

I honestly don't get why Octopath gets compared to Saga all the time. Aside from the ability to start from multiple different protagonists and the relative freedom of movement around the world, they're nothing alike mechanically. |

Well if they do re-make V I hope they also give the story a face lift. It did not have any memorable characters or events and the plot was as basic as can be.
Oh, but it did have that awesome song "Clash on the Big Bridge." |

Reading all the posts here just serve to cement the dysfunctional aura westerners have towards Final Fantasy V. It's bad enough that the game never got a proper SNES release on account of Squaresoft USA not knowing how to localize the game with Ted Woolsey infamously saying that the game was "not accessible enough to the average gamer" (whatever the hell THAT means).
Sorry, but speaking as someone who HAS played the game, it's definitely worth the remake! Final Fantasy V is FUN! Great fun! The upgraded job system gives III's job system an absolute run for its money and creates awesome skill combos that can liven up battles. And ExDeath and Gilgamesh are underrated villains that steal the spotlight every time they're on screen. Remake the game! |
