Looking forward to the finale somewhat. I hope they don't mess it up.

There's not much they can mess up... or get right. They'll manage to get back Shiragami and everything will go back to normal. We'll have an open ending. Seen it a dozen times.

I'd like to hope that maybe, just maybe someone would confess, but it's not going to happen.

I have to agree. With that ending then all hope for a confession has pretty much faded away.

I would have preferred it if Nagisa had shouted "I love you!" whilst Asahi was climbing the tables, causing him to either slip and fall back down or just the episode ending with the camera panned on his face in shock.

I sadly saw the Vampire capture happening early on, but after they all go and save Shiragami next episode, it's going to end with them all realising that they've got each other and no couple needed to break it up.

A part of me wants a ShiragamixNagisa ending just to total mind**** Asahi when they both turn him down for each other! Laughing

Episode 12

The ending is kind of reminding me of Rosario Vampire, in general the series' has had parts that make me think of it, and for that reason I think we are not getting the whole picture. No doubt her father took her away, but I bet there is the chance that it was something like for a family gathering. Knowing the series he is probably silly in some aspect, and although he probably is overprotective of her, he will probably turn out to be mostly harmless. Well maybe harmless like Akane is, in that helpless against the right foil, likely his wife.

Anyway, about the episode in particular. Akane is so fun when she is messing around.

Everyone seems to be fond of Akane. I feel like a weirdo since I don't like her. I don't find her funny so she just comes off as an annoying little prankster. Everytime she is on screen I pray for Akari to show up and take her away. Sad

Just a heads up: In the Diamond Previews that came out at comic shops today, Seven Seas solicited the first volume of the manga of Actually I Am .... for delivery on January 13. The title is listed as My Monster Secret. Seven Seas has been good at making their anticipated delivery dates so look for it in comic shops or book stores then or pre order it from your local comic shop.

Episode 13 (finale):

Probably the most action filled episode and as for the finale, it was pretty damn funny at how they try to escape from Youko's Dad.

Banana peel though?

Ha. And anyways, the episode bought the reunion between Kuromine and Youko again. I thought the finale felt rushed but still had some nice humor. Started off kinda rocky but the show got better as time went on. I would not mind it if it gets another season. For those wondering, the adaptation reshuffled some chapters but I think worked out in the end as it got the comedy part right especially with the face expressions. Rating this as good.

This show ended up being a bit disappointing. At the start it had promise. I felt like the show was good at capturing endearing and emotional moments. The show was at its strongest when it was doing romance, mixed in with a bit of comedy and supernatural elements. Instead the show started to dick around, wasting time doing just comedy.

The show ended up being a bit mediocre overall. Such a shame. Well at least it had a good opening and ending theme imo. I'll still give it decent, because it started off so well and had a magnificently adorable heroine.

Episode 13 (finale)

Told you all, it was a misunderstanding. The situation was an "actually I am" here to look after my sick mother who is really mostly okay and the big bat was her overreacting father. It was really not even a rescue, until comedy bumbling and emotions win over in the end that overreacting father can see that he is pretty genuine.

I liked some of the comedy bits, like the series' lore that the cross was a bad idea in making him angry, and that it was the banana peel that won out. Also it looks like him and Yoko are similar in some departments.

Actually, I am a little disappointed with the series, but it is from that I think there was so much they wanted to put in that there was not enough time to give enough time to characters like Mikan and his male friends. All of which appeared in the mid-episode card in looking like they were preparing for the end, and along with Shirou (who was also in a dress), none of them really appeared in this episode. We never got to really see Shirou in a situation of appearing in Shiho's clothes in series. I look at the episodes and think about where they might cut, but even the ones that were not introducing characters or something, I can see great episodes like Aizawa's body needing to be recharged, Yoko trying to fight the sun that lead to the date, the "sexy" battle, the cooking challenge turned chocolate to save the world, a swimsuit episode that developed the characters, and what lead to this kind of final story. I think another season where they can give more focus to characters, and jokes that did not get that old.

I really liked the characters in this series, when you think of harem series you kind of get it into your head what type of characters you would expect, and while similar I think they kind of break the mould. For the mould I think Youko especially fits a character like Moka from Rosario Vampire, but rather been portrayed as a super pretty girl who is super sweet. She characterised largely as a bit of a dope that you might see more from the hapless lead, that she thinks she is a "cool beauty" is actually a gag. Aizawa is supposed to be super serious, but it comes out comical when she goes over the top, and that many of her ideas come from apparently manga. Akane goes past wise beyond what she looks like and having fun, to straight up wanting to mess with others, even if she somehow helps. Mikan mellowed a little bit, except when we really needed some revenge on Akane. And Shiho, well she is a pervert beyond just maybe being seductive, Shidou though ended up a bit underused.

Overall I quite enjoyed the series, and I give it a rating of Very good.
