Big surprise here, after it was revealed that the Saint Seiya movies & Lost Canvas sets flopped for Discotek, I thought none of the other Kurumada titles would ever get picked up (again in B't X's case), glad to be wrong.
I wonder how they'll release this and if they have Neo as well?. |

First Raijin-Oh, now this. Interesting niche they're carving out for themselves.

Anime Midstream, huh? Hardly heard of them. I hope they become as successful as other companies, like Discotek. We need more anime licensors.

Never heard of this series, but I'm fond of Anime Midstream, so I'll probably get this. It looks like a fun series, even if not one that'll become an all-time favourite. It's always great to see a somewhat older series get a release.

Awesome! Been thinking about B'T X these days, oh, the memories. Probably Kurumada's best series. I still wish for a remake that adapts the complete final arc, though Neo isn't bad at all.
That image in the article is about B'T X Neo, by the way. |

It doesn't stray particularly that far, in the sense that the meaning of the message is kind of still there, it's just weirdly rushed, because we don't have the full fight with Raphaelo, the Emperor and Nattasja's backgrounds, the fight with the last four of the seven Dark Generals, Salome, Sapphire, Dr. Poe and Gai. The anime follows pretty well the manga until Fou fights Quattro, after that it deviates pretty noticeably, but not in a bad way in my opinion, just less satisfying compared to the manga. Just to be sure, you watched B'T X Neo, right? Some people only watched the first one, which has some sort of ending but it's just a stopping point. Anyways, I do recommend reading the manga if you're okay with a very strong 80ish artstyle. Last edited by Valhern on Fri Aug 19, 2016 11:26 am; edited 1 time in total |

Am I wrong or there was a slight incest feeling in this B'tx? I also remember that he was nude on top of that robot winged-horse! It was an awesome ending song... but i was nine years old so my glimpse of it is not serious hahaha

*waits patiently for releases of of Fuma no Kojiro*
Depressed to hear about the sales of Lost Canvas though. I still love it to bits. I suppose we will never get the Asgard, Poseidon and Hades arcs released here. |

This is certainly unexpected news for a fan of Kurumada in general, like me... Extremely welcome news, but still unexpected.
Having bought all of Midstream's Raijin-Oh releases, I can definitely say that I am looking forward to their B't X release, because I know it will be a quality release; I certainly couldn't say the same for Illumitoon's release, that's for sure. B't X is actually the title that got me into Masami Kurumada's works, so I am really looking forward to finally owning the complete anime on DVD, & with a full English dub at that. For some extra info I did e-mail Anime Midstream this morning, and they did respond with some extra tidbits: 1. The English dub will be brand new & starting from scratch. That being said, there will be one or two actors from the Illumitoon dub who will be in the new Midstream dub, but nothing about if they will be reprisals, so it's obviously going to be a Texas dub. Also, no word on if the Illumitoon dub will be included for completion's sake. I was also told that a cast list should be coming out soon, so I'm guessing that work on the dub will be starting soon. 2. All of B't X was indeed licensed, so Neo will eventually come out. Midstream simply wants to focus on the TV series right now, with a proper announcement for Neo happening later on. 3. No word on any extras right now, the Japanese LDs featured various interviews with the voice cast, but they'll likely include dub outtakes like they did for Raijin-Oh. All in all, I'm certainly looking for to this, & I'll be more than happy to see this anime a third time, this time dubbed. |

I was just looking up VA info about this yesterday on Behind the Voice Actors. Talk about coincidences.

I say "good luck" to this company so that they could increase their catalog to licensing at least 3-4 shows a year. It also might help to get some of the lesser known shows from the 2010s.
