Episode 20:
Well, I like the buildup so far for this arc.
Heh, I have to give Ginryou some credit for forging that Beast Spear. Took a lot of guts to do that even after witnessing what Hakumen no Mono did. And it's always nice to know more about the Beast Spear's origins as well as Ushio's mother with her role.
The final battle is coming soon.
Can't wait for that~

A sad episode that was watched with a heavy heart.
Jie Mei made the ultimate sacrifice.
That spear.. so much sadness and pain..
The story of the spear finally revealed!
Actually, a lot was revealed this time.
Great episode!

This is where most current anime would end, unless the sales were great. Glad this isn't the end for this series.
But pretty much all my questions have been answered now, except for how the spear got from being sealed in China to a shrine basement in Japan, and how to permanently dispatch HnM. I was mostly right about what was going on, but couldn't figure out the key reason for protecting HnM since I have a more real-world understanding of Japan's substructure. Still, as a metaphor for the plates and volcanic origins, it's not bad at all.
Very emotional episode, nicely put together. The infodump didn't even really feel like one.

Life getting back to normal for Ushio.
Well... that didn't last long.
A new enemy/competition & Hakumen's avatar showed up.
Damn... looks like the final battle is slowly approaching.
That Kirio feels suspicious..

So Hakumen no Mono sent her avatar there to kill the head, and to have it killed by her own false hero in a plan to destroy them from within? Well destruction from within does seem to be a favourite method of it. I was thinking that the avatar looked a bit like an antlion which had been shown earlier in the episode, and I think are often representative of a trap and the harder the struggle the more the fall.

Episode 22:
Well this episode gave more background story about Kirio's origins.
There's a decent amount of action in the first half though between Ushio and Tora. I think Tora is trying to teach Ushio some lesson to become stronger without losing control in the future. Kirio's story is interesting but I don't like the guy much. I think this episode is fairly interesting though to establish a buildup for the upcoming events.

Nice effort on Tora's side.
Ushio needed some snapping back.
Kirio showed up to add some additional pressure on Ushio..
That kid really knows how to pick his timing.
Towako... what an intriguing woman.
Inasa went too far and it backfired on him.

Episode 23:
Well that was interesting, we got Kirio's mother and her motivations this episode. Not too surprising revelation though. I'm just glad to see Ushio and Tora fight through the problem. Because right now, Ushio needs powerful allies if he wants any hope of defeating Hakumen no Mono.
Will be the hardest fight of his life.

Ushio & Tora vs Kuin!
All were tricked by Hakumen no Mono's minion..
And now they even lost the Spear.. the only way of defeating the boss.
Kirio messed up badly..
Was glad to see Ushio's resolve was strong enough to save it.
Great episode!

Props to the animators for that scene where the face slowly emerges. Except for the last couple of frames where the eye positioning doesn't match, it was a marvel of subtle dread.

Episode 24:
Had a lot of fun watching this episode mostly because of Tora and Mayuko's chemistry. We also get to see more of Mayuko's past too.
However, what I find most fun is how much Tora and Mayuko seems to get along despite their differences. And also, she looks great in a wedding dress. Is it also just me or does Tora starts expressing more and more human behavior? Pretty fun episode.

Ushio's digestive problems..
Inoue stumbling into a suspicious party.
Tora can morph into people?! Cool!
That brain-sucking monster kinda looked like Einstein LOL
Interesting episode with Ushio on the sidelines.

Episode 25:
Shit, that escalated. A group of guy in suits coming to ambush Ushio..
I feel bad for Tora as he got hit by some electricity and tortured (part of his plan though). I swear, the scientists in this series are just too damn cruel. Kinda creepy about the experimentation and what the scientists are doing despite their "good intentions" to defeat Hakumen.
The action was pretty good seeing Ushio in action. Also felt a bit bad for Bal-chan....
Thrilling episode. One more left for the season D:

That was good. My only real complaint was that she forgot to call in Tora until the last second. That, and I'm getting kind of tired of scientists always being evil, even if they did counterbalance it a little with Asako's little speech.

Asako sure knows how to hadle Ushio-Tora combo.
That just put a mark on her back.
More trouble for Ushio & gang..
That spear just attracts problems like a giant magnet.
Those doctors & their experiments were just horrible.
Can't wait to see how it ends next time!
