Honestly I don't enjoy Shin-chan and I do think that they are not very appropriate for children, but to call it 'Essentially Pornography' is a bit too much, I think.
But seriously, the censorship there is quite ridiculous. They blurred every single cleavage (in Hollywood movies, too!), they cut relatively normal kissing scene, and yeah, basically they ruin the whole show. It's true that Indonesia has the largest Islam population, even though it's not Islam country. And Islam standards heavily influence every single aspect of the country, so showing too much skin is not a good idea. (Plus, fanatic Islams there really hate the idea of someone who is not Islam to rule the country. The issue of racism and religion difference is really tough.) Also, recently they want Tom & Jerry to be taken off from broadcast because it contains tons of (cartoon) violence. Though, it's completely okay to broadcast rip-off television drama - which sometimes contains lame plot like mother-in-law trying to kill daughter-in-law of some sort, or high school bullying. They are completely okay. |

By those definitions Dragonball Z is pornography. Incredulous.

If this was concerning shows like Queen's Blade, Qwaser, or DxD, I would see why they think that (but even then, I wouldn't necessarily agree). But
for them to say that Shin-chan is "essentially pornographic" is something I don't agree with at all. |

They should see the uncensored version of volume 10 of the manga from Comics One.

And he would say "de blote billen boogie'' sorry for using Dutch but i just had to here hehe. But i only figured out 2 weeks ago that din't make any sense when i watched the Funimation dvds because he's just an ass and being rude to eveyone and all. In the Dutch version they made it look like he was just playing around which wasn't the case but i love the unedited version just orderd the 3th dvd set unfortunatly there still isn't anymore. And it doesn't see like funimation is willing to try there hand at releasing another 40 dvd set's of a comedy that isn't even doing so well, if OP is enough of a problem as it is ... but streaming the Japanese version may happen some day .... |

Really? But they said pornography, not child pornography? Hmm...I wonder if this has something to do with the culture or is this just some general complaint?

I believe it's just general complaint. Recently, the regulator also has several complaints about Tom and Jerry and Spongebob Squarepants, stating that they are dangerous for kids. But I heard the TV channels seem to ignore their warning...

I'm not sure how similar Indonesia is to India, but this happened: An Indian court has issued an arrest warrant for Hollywood actor Richard Gere after he kissed Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty in public. |
