Oh, the poll is so hard.
Natsume for the win, in both quality and quantity. But I almost put in Kamichu. *sigh* (Gingitsune would be right up there, as far as I'm concerned, and Inari Kon Kon Koi Iroha would be too, if her older brother weren't such a sexist jerk.) |

I love iyashikei anime, so I had to vote, but it was so hard. Haibane Renmei is a masterpiece, and Aria is an absolutely amazing world in which to lose yourself. But ultimately I had to go with YKK because... it's frickin' YKK, the masterpiece work that caused the very word "iyashikei" to come into existence! I have no doubt some previous works were also iyashikei-like, but YKK was the first one to distill it to such purity that a genre had to be named for it.

What? No one remembers "Only Yesterday" ? For shame!

While not a series, the highly-acclaimed movie Wolf Children is also squarely focused on the trials and rewards of rural living for former city folk (adding in the additional complications of raising children who turn into wolves). It's a wonderful anime film that soothes and inspires the soul.

Funny enough, for Iyashikei, I would vote for Non Non Biyori as well.
I think most people got Aria covered. It's one of my faves too. But Non Non is definitely a modern classic as far as Iyashikei go. I had a relaxing time with Gochuumon as well, though it's arguably more comedy than iyashikei. K-On, Tamago Market and Hyakko also are solid Iyashikeis though they're comedy based as well. My Vote will be for Non Non Biyori |

As much of an impact that and other series has had on entertainment, you will still find people who will complain about it. |

Well, I'm sure my age is showing, but I voted for Bartender. I could empathize with many of the patrons having had similar experiences in my life. Too bad you can't really wash away the past with a cocktail.

Natsume Yuujinchou just yes. My favorite anime and I don't think it will ever change. Natsume is just so beautiful.

Voted for Bunny Drop, but question, shouldn't Lucky Star be considered "healing" too?

Its more of a comedy/ some of the other shows also don't fit the poll. i.e hanayamata. |

Tough choice for me on "Healing anime" between Tamayura and Sound of the Sky... I chose Tamayura, but both are among my favorites.

Any love for Mahoraba? Such a good anime and manga. The 4koma in each episode was killer! I'm sad that I can't legally own it.
Same goes for all the Aria manga. : __ : For iyashikei, I vote for Aria for not just the setting, characters, and wonderful lack of plot development, as well as, ACTUAL plot development, but also for Aria's godly music. BUT. I've yet to see Natsume's Book Of Friends, Mushishi, Bunny Drop, and Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou. I am ashamed. Especially for not reading/watching YKK yet. As mentioned, Haibane Renmei is a different kind of healing. Never mind that, though. Hugs to everyone who loves it!! |

Like others I had to look it up.
http://www.animenation.net/blog/2007/11/08/ask-john-what-are-iyashikei-anime/ I picked K-On!, but for me, that would be number three for my go-to for relaxing, therapeutic feels. Azumanga Diaoh and Genshiken are one and two. |
