Hello ANN. My name is Ian Geer Flanders. I wanted to request the renaming of Stephen Keener's page.
My father was actor Ed Flanders. He was uncredited while working on Transformers because although he was a TV actor (like Johnny Haymer, who like my father was in M.A.S.H.), his popularity in the film industry was increasing, so he told Wally Burr that he didn't want any credit. I was interviewed for this article about my father, but I didn't tell them about Transformers because I was unsure how it would affect my father's reputation: http://www.stelsewhereweb.com/2013/08/on-call-vol-1-no-3-personnel-profile-ed.html But after seeing the fanbase that Transformers has generated, I decided to reveal the secret. I hope you accept this request. My father enjoyed working on that show. It was really sad for him that it ended so soon. Kind regards Ian Flanders Last edited by IanFlanders on Tue Dec 10, 2013 12:08 pm; edited 2 times in total |

Done. Let me know if anything else needs to be added and/or removed. Thank you very much for the information.

Mr. Keener is a good friend of mine and he played various characters in the Transformers commercials but all the characters in the series that had been atributted to him were actually played by my father. So I want to say that I may have expressed myself wrong in the previous but Mr. Keener is another actor and he played additional voices in Thundercats. He was going to play a character in the Rebirth before it got trimmed into 3 parts. Just wanted to bring that out there.

I call B.S. on all of this.
First of all, Keener's son came forth on both TFW2005 and TFWiki refuting the claims that Keener was just a pseudonym (including a link to an educational short hosted by Mr. Keener), which immediately disproves this claim that Stephen Keener was a made-up pseudonym. (convenient that "Ian Flanders" here is now coming back here to backtrack on his claims). http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-general-discussion/952475-where-stephen-keener.html#post10290800 http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Talk:Stephen_Keener#Stephen_Keener This then caused this supposed Ian Flanders to start actively posting on the Transformers Wiki with ridiculously specific information on incidental roles that most voice actors involved in Transformers themselves have trouble remembering: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Talk:Prima#Ed_Flanders Furthermore, a checkuser on this "Ian Flanders" quickly revealed him to be the same person as a Transformers named "Starscreamsfan": http://www.allspark.com/forums/topic/83287-tf-wiki-thread-20/page-157#entry2440559 This Starscreamsfan who just happened to conveniently "break the news" to everyone: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-general-discussion/963648-stephen-keeners-identity-revealed.html http://tfwiki.net/wiki/User_talk:Starscreamsfan#That%27ll_be_enough_of_that |

Great, now I don't know whom to believe.
I was about to ask IanFlanders about his second post as I was puzzled and confused by this sentence:
While the thread starting post looked cordial, the second post was unconvincing at most. I've un-merged the two pages in the Encyclopedia. Mencius said, "a gentleman may be deceived by devices that follow the normal course of things, but he cannot be fooled by things that defy reason." (君子可欺之以方,難罔以非其道) Anyone trying to trick me with my belief in people's good nature WILL BE IN BIG TROUBLE. |

This also throws more doubt into "Ian Flanders"' claims... He edited his original post on December 10th (same date as his second post) to remove the pseudonym piece.
Fortunately it remained as a source for the Encyclopedia entry:
(emphasis mine) Now we have backtracking that "Stephen Keener is a good friend". I'm just going to add this to the list of inconsistencies by "Ian Flanders"/Starscreamsfan: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Talk:Stephen_Keener#Stephen_Keener
So what was once "a pseudonym Wally Burr came up for my dad" became "a voiceover veteran" and is now "a good friend of mine". This really throws so many doubts as to whether Ed Flanders was ever really involved in Transformers. I have no idea what this person is trying to accomplish with this. (FWIW, all the Transformers credits mister Flanders has on his current ANN page were credited to mister Keener on the Transformers Wiki before this debacle started) |

OK, I've properly credited all the roles that were wrongly credited to Ed Flanders. Some of these roles like Abominus weren't even played by Keener, which only hurts this guy's credibility more.
All the Ed Flanders Transformers roles need to be deleted and you might want to make sure this user hasn't done any more damage. |

As it seems likely to me this was a hoax, I've disabled all the info submitted by this IanFlanders: person#125440
