This episode had many big laughs for me, the biggest being when spoiler[Zaharl's master plan turned out to be to disguise himself as Shinichi]. That was priceless. And what guy who has/has had a girlfriend, wife, daughter, or sister beyond a certain age hasn't found himself in a predicament at least somewhat similar to Shinichi's convenience store visit at some point? (In my case, the female store clerk actually admired me for being willing to do something like that for his girl.)
While it's hardly like we haven't seen fare like a stranger's visit to Akiba or a young man fighting temptation before in anime, I, too, found this rendition of it much more adorable than normal. My #1 character for the year is incontrovertibly fixed, but Myucel is swiftly becoming my #2. This one did set a distinctly higher fan service standard, although I though it was, for the most part, tastefully done. It will be interesting to see if this episode was the exception (which I suspect) or the new standard on that. |

Episode 8
We needed a good Petralka episode, and we got one. I liked learning a bit about her as she spoiler[decided to turn herself into hikikimori], that her parents spoiler[were killed by her uncle and auntie, Galius's parents]. That would probably be heavy on both of them. I do think he probably could have spoiler[convinced her quicker with just saying what he had to do to get out], but he made it her decision. Actually should have mentioned the episode title, The Melancholy of the Supreme Ruler, not hard to see what that references. Oh god, who showed Miusel spoiler[Shuffle], whatever you do, don't give her a spoiler[box cutter]. She was already at spoiler[stirring empty pot] level. I was also thinking we needed more Bluk, we did get the information he has a wife and get a look at her beyond what is in the OP as an eye-catch , not quite sure what to think of the eye catch, do I risk saying it looked hot. What comes to mind is The Lusty Argonian Maid. So next episode is apparently a swimsuit episode, although I am saddened by the preview saying spoiler[Petralka will not be in it, I want more of her]. |

Looks like sometimes even royalty feels vulnerable.
Didn't expect spoiler[she'd suddenly act like this. Something must have triggered it..] Shinichi had his hands full this time. Instead of spoiler[helping with the situation he kinda did the opposite. I know he likes to show off his otaku knowledge, but still..] Anyway, it was nice to learn more interesting things ^^ |

Episode 8
Poor spoiler[Petralka, being a queen for a nation is hard especially someone of her age. I think she should get more breaks like in the latest episode. I think she did learn quite a bit regarding what's like to be a hikikomori.] The part related to her spoiler[parents being killed by Gailus' parents] surprised me somewhat though. Anyways, entertaining episode. I'm really liking where this show is going now. Surprising anime of the season. |

up until this episode, I had a constant nagging suspicion that Garius was spoiler[the evil chancellor and just biding his time until he could get rid of Petrarca and claim the throne for himself]. Pleasantly surprised to find out that trope was defied

Good eppie. I especially liked that Petralka recognizes that one of her spoiler[faults is taking her frustrations out on other people.] That's a rare example of a tsundere having some insight into her own behaviour.
Looking forward to the swimsuit episode next time - hopefully with lots of Wolf Girl and Minori fanservice and maybe even Lizard Man's wife thrown in. |

Brooke's wife is much more attractive than I would've thought! I wonder if they have baby lizards.
The episode where Shinichi and Myusel went to Japan was much funnier than I thought, too. Lots of great gags, and an appreciation of a tourist's reaction to Tokyo. I'd probably act just like Myusel if I ever got to go! Best gag reference: mistaking a porn parody for Madoka anime. How could he make that mistake? Whatever, he'll keep it! So spoiler[Petralka's parents were murdered by her cousin Galius's parents. Sucks to be a monarch. ] |

As expected, no fanservice of Petralka, they even managed to make her swimsuit scene unsexual as possible. Whereas they upped the fanservice for the other girls. It's become quite clear that lolicon service just doesn't sit with the animation staff - quite ironic for a title which supposedly caters for lolicons too, yet the anime doesn't have anything for them.
Not that it was any surprise after they removed all her lewd scenes from her own episode last week. |

Episode 9
It is a beach episode? Shinichi was quite set on this being a beach episode, Miusel even did spoiler[research under that direction], she seemed to be quite good at it she spoiler[had an accidental exposure]. And of course, what else could Minori read in a beach episode other than spoiler[Free!]? A couple other points. The elf guy and dwarf girl seem a little chummy. Miusel's favourite anime is apparently spoiler[Seitokai Yakuindomo], I like that, I wonder what she would think of the maid character. Describing that to kids would be super awkward, their reaction was funny. And the entire plot of spoiler[Petralka's swimsuit] , not only funny from it being treated so serious, but also the guy who kept insisting on spoiler[a school swimsuit]. And they eventually chose spoiler[it by a list of best design], and she actually spoiler[liked it]. I am happy Petralka had some part as she is kind of my favourite, although fair use of all of the gals, extra points of Elba. Sadly no Galius in speedos, which Minori would have loved based from her reading materials. |

Agreed. While I overall enjoyed the episode as usual, this was by far my favorite part. Clearly the writers took a page out of the "Calvin and Hobbes fantasy" book, as in this: Basically, it's adding ridiculous dialogue to serious visuals for laughs. Bill Watterson knew this juxtaposition would be hilarious, and it was, and it's no different in this show. |

Looks like Shinichi taught Miusel well.
They sure spoiler[could use another capable teacher ^^ Vacation time!] Already? Guess it was impossible to skip that much fan service. spoiler[A lake surrounded by mountains, nice one. I prefer the seaside setting, but this was good too. Shinichi finally got a chance to enjoy his personal harem.] Looks like he has a special place forspoiler[ Miusel] in his heart ^^ So ecchiness seems to be contagious ^^" Fun episode! |

Imo, the latest episode was bit weak and blend compared to some of the previous ones that made me laugh quite a bit. I think it's because the spoiler[typical beach episode] or the way it was done. Oh well. I still enjoy this show more than I had expected though and Myucel looks adorable in that spoiler[swimsuit].

good episode all around. I think what I liked the most was spoiler[Roic's concern over Romilda]. They've come far since the start of the show
