This is sorta a side question, but I really still don't get it, even after reading numerous explinations on it. So how exactly does Lancer's spoiler[Gae Bolg] work? So far, all I've been able to sorta dervive is spoiler[it aims for the heart, it's essentally 100% fatal, something involving reversal of the laws of Cause & Effect, and it's impossible to dodge, yet... Saber avoided it...]

spoiler[Lancer's attack aims for the heart and hits in the future; the path of the spear just follows what path it needs to go through to complete that hit. It reverses cause and effect in terms of that the cause (path of the spear) follows the effect (piercing the heart). Saber, though, has an incredibly high luck stat (yes, just like in an RPG), and so was able change the future fate of the spear piercing her heart.]

This page here pretty much tells you everything you'll ever need to know about Lancer. The site also has pages for the other six Servants, as well. Caution, though, when you get to pages like Archer's and Gilgamesh's, you're getting into spoiler country. And stay away from the "Fate Synopsis" page if you don't want the TV series spoiled for you. Thus far the anime's apparently been a very, very faithful adaptation of that specific game scenario (which...yeah, kinda pisses me off since it means my favourite character spoiler[will only have a cameo role at best, not to mention be stuck with an utterly sucky Master]
 ).

Ah yes. This site is what really got me into much of Type-Moon's stuff. But alas, I had already spoiled a lot of Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night for myself over a year ago. Well... I didn't read too indepth back then, so I can still enjoy the series decently, since I've forgot basically almost everything. Alas, the only things I consider really major, that I wasn't able to purge my memory of, is sadly, the background information on Archer and Gilgamesh.

I've finished episode 4.
spoiler[The battle between Berserker and Saber was REALLY brutal. I mean....GEEZ. Saber did her best to fight him, but in the end she got pummeled to a bloody plup. As Saber tried to get up, Berserker was about to swing his sword for the final blow. Shiro pushed Saber out of the way, and he took the hit. Ilya seemed to have gotten bored with the battle so she and Berserker retreated. Interestingly enough, a shadowy person in robes was watching the battle through a crystal ball; I'm guessing that's Castor. Oh yeah, Berserker's True Name has been revealed; it's Hercules! The next day Shiro seemed to be fine because Saber used her healing abilities to help him (well that's what Rin said to him). Few moments happened like how Shiro feels he's not up to the task so Saber is making sure he's ready. Also Sakura's expression turned rather dark when she smelled blood off of Rin. Could she be involved in it somehow (well, duh)? ] Man, Ilya's personality is rather ruthless and vicious yet cute. Though one thing that's questionable is that spoiler[she had the chance to order Berserker to finish off Saber, but she didn't. I bet there's a reason for that. Either that or she really was bored "toying" around with them. ]

By the way, has anyone else noticed that one theme in Fate/stay night (plays in the background of the episode previews) is a clear plagiate from the Key the metal idol's song lullaby?

Ah, episode 5. This was a rather light-hearted and entertaining episode.
spoiler[Two comedic moments happened. One, Fuji-nee reluctantly challenged Saber into a kendo match (rather unfairly since Saber was unarmed). The reason for that is she doesn't like the fact that Saber is staying at Shirou's place. Well, after the "match" you can guess who won! 
Second thing that happened is Rin decided to kill off Shirou the next time they meet. Execution-wise, it was done in a rather comedic effect especially when Rin and Shirou jumped off the stairway and landed way too hard; the impact was rather brutal! 
Plot-wise a few stuff happened like Shinji and Ayako mysteriously disappeared, Rin was fighting off a bunch of skeletons, and behold she's going to make her appearence next episode!] You guessed it, it's HER! 
One thing to complain about the episode, the character designs were rather off in certain places. It didn't really hamper my enjoyment, but they were noticiable. |

For lack of a better word... ^______________________________^!!! Now all that needs to happen is for her to have a role in the series that lasts more than two or three episodes (in other words, not staying true to either the spoiler[Fate] or spoiler[Unlimited Blade Works] game scenarios with regards to her character...). |
