Fact of the matter is, even in the last episode, Kagome and Inuyahsa still hadn't found all the jewel pieces. Even more hilarious, only one year seemed to pass, even the series went on for several years. |
According to Wikipedia, the jewel was completed in episode twenty of The Final Act. Given as that show is an official part of the franchise, you might want to revise your statement with the caveat that you're only talking about the initial series.

He should really be glad that it's only 3 pieces. Oh that brings back memories. Finding all the shards to the glass ball. Yet I've only watched some of Inu Yasha.

I liked this one. It was very amusing. But,what would have made it better if Inuyasha went over to the guy and said "We go through a whole bunch of manga,a tv series, four movies, and for what? Nothing! Why did I put myself through this? Why? Why?! WHY?!?!" Then Kagome screams "Sit boy!!!" Then,Inuyasha falls to the ground as she says "That's what you get for being so melodramatic." What do you guys think of that?

Even if they didn't use the "I miss the people" angle, there's still the plot-device of what happens to your world if the past is overrun with demons/evil. So they were covered either way.
This world does raise an interesting secondary issue though. From here, they could technically get back to the real world. I'm sure the power of friendship will keep them together but a fun opportunity.

This is why I recommend the manga, there are 56 volumes but you read each on in less than an hour. It's a lot easier than watching almost 200 episodes.

Sazae-san thinks they're both lightweights.

LOL! Wow, I haven't read Nina in a long time. All caught up now, and I'm loving this arc!
I was a big Inuyasha fan back in the day.... It's not over 'till the mangaka is done, as they say (or the manga loses readers). Hey, at least Inuyasha got a second series to complete it. How many shonen shows get that?
As far as I'm concerned, you can let this gem of an arc go on for however long you want!

At least InuYasha actually did complete. Now... how about Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle?
I know you're all thinking it.

Check out the manga, it did end. Just because life for the characters continues doesn't mean it was left unfinished.

Same. Final Act has some actor replacements though, right?
