Much as I generally agree with what you're saying, I'd be willing to bet that anyone legitimately upset by Queen's Blade getting a US release skipped on a 15 year old OVA featuring hardcore child-rape and exploding bullets. I'd also bet just as many people who were only half-interested watched the so-called "Director's Cut" and thought that was more than enough.
And the real reason is because 4Kids doesn't make their money selling DVDs. They get their real money from the card games, now the anime itself, and that's something most 8 year olds aren't clever enough to download.

Read jsevakis' posts in the dang thread, guy. We were never getting a Blu-ray release of Lodoss War, and it's not any other title's fault. The fact that Media Blasters didn't do their homework before announcing the license doesn't mean anything other than John Sirabella is good at shooting his mouth off without anything substantial enough to back it up.

They didn't announce it. I forced their hand.

And you never returned to their store before they closed it right?

I would have, I just never had the money. By the time I did they were done.

Discotek should definitely get this. It seems right up their alley, since they licensed stuff like Dragon Half and Samurai Pizza Cats.

It is relevant, now that the Japanese BDs are coming out, someone else may have designs on license rescuing it.
