I didn't know they were changing the dub before the releases. It sounded fine to me from the clips I have heard, but I guess too many people had problems with it.

Really surprised no one is even talking about Night Raid 1931 here, It looks like somewhat of a good show, I will likely buy that.

A good comparison would be the ADV Saiyuki dub, where some foul language was thrown in. They also put American pop culture references in place of the original Japanese ones. They didn't interfer with any of the plot or character development, but a few people did complain that some lines strayed to far from the Japanese. They are redoing some of the lines to be more faithful to the original.
But the overall consensus has been pretty positive, particularly on the casting and performances.

Yeah. The unexpected payoff, of the wait for when/if it would get licensed, that it's getting a dub added and blu-ray release too, totally awesome surprises when it was first announced and is now dated, can't wait!
