Power Up Your Lunch with One-Punch Man Bento

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

A balanced lunch is an important part of hero's day. You can power yours up with ketchup rice, eggs, cheese, ham, and a few other ingredients to create an edible One-Punch Man.

The recipe calls for:

Ketchup Rice

  • 1.5 cups of rice
  • 2.5 tablespoons of ketchup
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Usuyaki Eggs
  • 2 Eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Ketchup Jelly
  • 3 tablespoons of ketchup
  • 3 1/3oz of water
  • 1/2 tsp Gelatin
Saitama's Face Details
  • 1 cheese slice
  • 1 ham slice
  • 1 sheet of nori seaweed
Garnish
  • 1/2 slice chicken breast meat
  • 1 Tbsp Sake
  • 1 Tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2cm of garlic (from a tube)
  • Lettuce, tomato to taste

Cooking Instructions: Usuyaki Eggs: Separate the egg whites and egg yolks and fry them separately on low heat. The end result should be a crepe-like omelette sheets, some very yellow and the others white. Be careful not to burn it.
Ketchup Jelly: Dissolve the gelatin and ketchup in the water over heat. Then pour the mixture into a heat-resistant container lined with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator to cool and solidify.
Ketchup Rice: While the eggs and jelly are cooling, heat oil in a frying pan for ketchup rice. Fry the rice and then add the ketchup, salt and pepper.
Garnish: Put the sliced chicken breast meat in a plastic bag with the sake, soy sauce, and garlic and knead it thoroughly. Then heat it in a frying pan without oil. While it is warming up, wash the lettuce and cherry tomatoes.

Decorating: Fill the bento box about 3/4 full with the ketchup rice. Use scissors, a knife, tweezers, and toothpicks to cut the ham, cheese, and nori to create your Saitama. The egg white is used for cape, the egg yolk for his body suit, ketchup jelly for his fist, ham for his mouth, cheese for the eyes, and nori for the black outlines.
