The July issue of Shueisha's Ribon magazine announced on Wednesday that Megumi Mizusawa's Hime-chan no Ribon (Hime-chan's Ribbon) manga will get a new one-shot in the following issue on July 3. The original manga series ran from 1990 to 1994.
The one-shot is part of Ribon magazine's 60th anniversary celebration. It will be 32 pages long.
In the manga, Princess Erika of the parallel-world Magic Kingdom gives a human tomboy named Himeko a magical ribbon that can transform her into any person she sees.
Toei Animation adapted the original manga into a popular 61-episode television anime series from 1992 to 1993. The manga also inspired novel and musical adaptations, as well as a 2009-2010 remake by Shiho Komiyuno (Demashita! PowerPuff Girls Z).
