Witchcraft Works Manga Listed by Vertical's Distributor

1st volume of Ryū Mizunagi's fantasy series also listed on Amazon for September release

Random House, the distributor for the North American manga publisher Vertical, is currently listing that Vertical will release the first volume of Ryū Mizunagi's Witchcraft Works manga on September 30. The listing notes that the 180-page book will retail for US$12.95. Amazon is also listing the first volume with the same release information. Vertical told ANN on Monday that it could not confirm or deny any plans to release the series.

The story centers around Honoka Takamiya, a boy whose classmate Ayaka Kagari is talented in sports, excels in classes, and is attractive on top of everything. She also happens to be most powerful witch on earth. Her purpose in life is to protect Takamiya at all costs.

Mizunagi launched the manga in Kodansha's Good! Afternoon magazine in 2010, and Kodansha published the sixth compiled volume in November.

The manga is inspiring a television anime series from J.C. Staff that premiered in Japan on January 5. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs.
