posted on by Karen Ressler
Latest in Gust's Atelier franchise with 2 protagonists ships on PS3 on June 27

Game developer Gust began streaming three gameplay videos for its upcoming PlayStation 3 role-playing game Atelier Escha & Logy ~Tasogare no Sora no Renkinjutsushi~ (Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky) this week. The gameplay videos feature battle scenes with Escha, battle scenes with Logy, and searching the field for items.

The latest game in Gust's Atelier franchise will feature main characters Escha Malier (voiced by Rie Murakawa), the 15-year-old heiress to a long line of experienced alchemists, and Logix Fiscario (voiced by Kaito Ishikawa), an 18-year-old with little ability in alchemy but who is proficient with a sword. The game will again feature an item-crafting system and will allow party members to defend and support each other in battle. The game will also feature the return of some characters from the previous games in the franchise.

The game is slated to ship in Japan on June 27 for 7,140 yen (about US$73). A premium box edition with a "pure crystal film frame" will ship for 10,290 yen (about US$104).

NIS America has released all three of the Atelier games in the Arland franchise in North America on the PS3: Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland, Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland, and Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland. Tecmo KOEI released the Atelier Totori Plus: The Adventurer of Arland PS Vita port in English on March 19, and NIS America released the Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk PS3 game in English on March 5.

Gust released the Meruru no Atelier Plus: Arland no Renkinjutsushi 3 (Atelier Meruru Plus: The Apprentice of Arland) PS Vita port in Japan in March, and the game's producer Keisuke Kikuchi noted in March that Atelier Rorona will not be getting a PS Vita port.
