Clamp: Less Work Planned Due to Member's Lower Back Problem

posted on by Egan Loo
Member diagnosed with lumbar compressed fracture; 1/2 year of rest ordered

The manga creator team Clamp posted an urgent notice on Thursday to announce that one of its four members has been diagnosed with lumbar compression fracture. The lower back condition was the result of sitting constantly in a chair for long hours.

On the doctor's orders, the afflicted member is undergoing about a half year of rest and recuperation, but Clamp acknowledged that it would be unreasonable to do so with the team's two current manga series and various other duties.

The team thought over the situation for several days and concluded that if the afflicted member does not commit to rest and recovery, this may lead to her dealing with a future of continued pain and a shortened career.

The members anticipate lower page counts on their serialized works and delays in some of their other work, and asked for everyone's understanding in the matter. Clamp concluded the notice by asking people to watch their own health.
