Voice Actor Masaya Matsukaze to Open Akiba Seiyū Café

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Café staffed by pro voice talent who will perform lines on request in July

Voice actor Masaya Matsukaze (Ouran High School Host Club's Kyoya, Death Note's Mikami) announced on his Twitter account on Wednesday that he plans to open the "Seiyū Café" in Tokyo's Akihabara (Akiba) otaku shopping district in July. According to the café's website, it will be the world's first cafe where the entire staff are professional voice actors and actresses.

The café will recreate a recording studio with professional microphones, a mini stage and speaker set, and it will seat around 40 people. The club advertises a "seiyū jukebox" — but unlike an actual jukebox machine with recorded music, customers can request the staff to recreate various scenes of dialogue live on the club's stage.

The café will feature food and drinks good for the throat, and will sell exclusive T-shirts and original drama CDs that fans can only buy at the café.
