SPJA Starts Anime Expo Con Chair Search

The Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (SPJA), the parent organization of Anime Expo (AX), North America's largest anime convention, is now soliciting applications for the combined position of AX 2008 convention chair and SPJA Vice President, Program Administration. This would be a paid part-time job through the rest of 2007 and the first part of 2008. It includes an on-demand schedule that starts eight to ten weeks before next year's Anime Expo and continues through the event. The requirements for the position include two to seven years of management experience, and general familiarity with the "Japanese animation community."
The SPJA is also seeking to hire a part-time Chief Financial Officer. Candidates are expected to have a background in accounting or finance management and, as with the convention chair position, experience with the anime community. The SPJA website also lists a job opening for assistant division manager, operations, along with an announcement for an office manager position that was posted last month.
