PS2 / Escaflowne Update

ANN has confirmed that the Escaflowned DVDs also do not play on PS2 with DVD Player version 1.20U, leading us to believe that they will not play on any PS2 version.
As previously mentionned, the various DVD replicators experiencing problems with the PS2 blame the problem on the PS2 hardware, however Sony has stated that this problem is the responsability of the DVD replicators. In the meantime, people who have purchased the Escaflowne DVDs (5&6) and have no DVD player onther than the PS2 have little option but to return the DVDs to the store where they bought them.
If anyone finds a PlayStation DVD Player version that can play these DVDs please inform us (editor at animenewsnetwork.com) so that we may pass the news on. Please include the DVD player version number.
