Konami Brings Yu-Gi-Oh Tribute Art Show to NYCC

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Konami is bringing the Yu-Gi-Oh! tribute art show to New York for New York Comic Con. Over 60 art pieces will be on display, including six never-before-seen designs. Gallery Henoch, just a few blocks from the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, will host the display from October 3-6 and admission is free.

The series' voice actors as well as the artists will be at the event and available for autographs. Artists Dan Mumford and Anthony Petrie will attend the gallery on October 4 to personally showcase their new designs. Mumford's portfolio includes poster work for Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War and Spider-Man: Homecoming films. Petrie, an award-winning poster artist and designer based in L.A., has created posters for Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse, Black Panther and The Hulk.

Voice actors Dan Green (Yugi/Yami Yugi), Darren Dunstan (Maximillian Pegasus), Erica Schroeder (Dark Magician Girl) and Jake Paque (Playmaker – Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS) will be available for autographs at the gallery on October 5.

Visitors can also pick-up limited edition prints, pints, posters, and t-shirts. The first 100 attendees each day will receive a free button.

After launching the show at Anime Expo earlier this year, Konami and Gallery1988 will feature four pieces created by Yu-Gi-Oh! originator Kazuki Takahashi which originally debuted during the Los Angeles show in July.

Takahashi's Yu-Gi-Oh! manga ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1996 to 2004. The manga launched an international hit franchise that continues to this day with card games, anime, toys, and newer manga series. Takahashi won Comic-Con International's Inkpot Award in July 2015. The award recognizes individuals for outstanding contributions to comics, science fiction and fantasy, film, television, animation, and fandom.
