Bloom Into You Manga Ends, 'Curtain Call' Projects Begin

The November issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine published the final chapter of Nio Nakatani's Bloom Into You manga on September 27. The issue also had "curtain call" announcements for the franchise. The announcements include the eighth and final manga volume on November 28, an art book, a short story collection by Nakatani, a second manga anthology, a third volume of Hitoma Iruma's Yagate Kimi ni Naru: Saeki Sayaka ni Tsuite (Bloom Into You - On Sayaka Saeki) spinoff novel series, LINE stamps based on the manga, and an encore performance of the stage play adaptation in fall 2020.
Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the manga in North America, and it describes the story:
Yuu has always loved shoujo manga and awaits the day she gets a love confession that sends her heart aflutter with bubbles and blushes, and yet when a junior high classmate confesses his feelings to her...she feels nothing. Disappointed and confused, Yuu enters high school still unsure how to respond. That's when Yuu sees the beautiful student council president Nanami turn down a suitor with such maturity that she's inspired to ask her for help. But when the next person to confess to Yuu is Nanami herself, has her shoujo romance finally begun?
Nakatani launched the manga in Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine in April 2015. Kadokawa also released a comic anthology for the series on December 25, as well as a side story novel by Hitoma Iruma that shipped last November. The manga has more than 850,000 copies in print in Japan. Seven Seas Entertainment shipped the manga's sixth volume on March 26. Seven Seas also licensed Iruma's novel series, with the first volume slated for February 2020.
The manga inspired an anime adaptation that premiered in October 2018. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime, and HIDIVE streamed the series with English subtitles as it aired in Japan. A stage play adaptation also debuted in May.
