Odex to Screen Uta no Prince Sama, 3rd Heaven's Feel Film in Southeast Asia

Films to screen in Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, the Philippines

Southeast Asian film distributor Odex announced last week that it will screen the Uta no Prince Sama Maji Love Kingdom anime film and the third Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel film in Southeast Asia, including in Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The company lists Uta no Prince Sama Maji Love Kingdom as "coming soon," but lists the Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel film for a 2020 release.

Malaysian film distributor GSC Movies previously revealed last week that Uta no Prince Sama Maji Love Kingdom will open in Malaysia on October 24.

Uta no Prince Sama Maji Love Kingdom opened in Japan on June 14, and ranked at #6 in its opening weekend. The film sold more than 100,000 tickets and earned 222.7 million yen (about US$2.05 million) from Friday to Sunday of its first weekend. The film has earned more than 1,407,654,000 yen (about US$13.23 million) as of August 11.

Utano☆Princesama Legend Star director Takeshi Furuta returned as chief director, and Utano☆Princesama Legend Star episode director Tomoka Nagaoka directed at A-1 Pictures. Hiroshi Nakajima (Fate/Apocrypha, Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV) served as CG director. Maki Fujioka returned to design the characters based on Chinatsu Kurahana's original designs. Fujioka was also the chief animation director. Katsuyoshi Miyajima (Cyborg 009 Call of Justice, AKB0048 next stage) was the character modeling supervisor. Elements Garden returned to compose the music. Mamoru Miyano performs the film's theme song "Encore."

The film's cast members reprised their roles from previous anime in the franchise.

Uta no Prince-sama - Maji Love 1000%, the first anime season adapting Broccoli's dating simulation video game for female players, premiered in Japan in July 2011. In the first season of the slapstick romantic comedy, the female protagonist goes to a school for the performing arts with young men who are budding idols. The subsequent seasons followed seven of the young men after they form the idol group ST☆RISH. The 13-episode second season, Uta no Prince-sama - Maji Love 2000%, premiered in Japan in April 2013. The 13-episode third season, Utano☆Princesama Revolutions, premiered in April 2015. The 13-episode fourth season, Utano☆Princesama Legend Star, premiered in October 2016.

Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel III. spring song, the third Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel film, will open in Japan in spring 2020.

The second film, Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel II. lost butterfly, opened in January, and it ended with a teaser that announced that the third film will open next spring. Odex screened the film in Southeast Asian territories from February to April.

The first film, Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel I. presage flower, opened at #1 at the Japanese box office by both attendance and box office earnings in October 2017. The film sold a total of 980,000 tickets to earn 1.5 billion yen (about US$13.5 million). Odex previously screened the first film in Southeast Asian territories from November 2017 through February 2018.

Tomonori Sudō (Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, Fate/Zero animation director) is directing the films, and ufotable is animating the work. Yuki Kajiura (Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works theme song composer, Fate/Zero music and theme song composer) is composing the music. Takahiro Miura is providing the storyboards.
