posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Tetsuhiro Hirakawa ended his Himawari (Sunflowers) manga in this year's 30th issue of Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine on Thursday. The issue also revealed that the 10th and final compiled book volume will ship on September 6.
In the story set in a small rural town, Ren and Kiyoharu have been together since they were small. The pair have a strong bond as they perform the traditional Shinto dance kagura together. They are also the strongest duo when it comes to fighting. One day, Kiyoharu suddenly disappears, but he appears to Ren again with a shocking appearance.
Hirakawa launched the series in September 2017, and the ninth volume will ship on July 8.
Hirakawa launched the Clover manga in Weekly Shōnen Champion in 2007, and ended it in October 2015. The manga received a live-action drama adaptation that aired from April to June 2012. Hirakawa's manga is unrelated to two similarly named Clover shōjo manga series from CLAMP and Toriko Chiya.
Hirakawa launched the Crows Zero II: Suzuran × Housen spinoff of Hiroshi Takahashi's manga in Akita Shoten's Bessatsu Shōnen Champion magazine in 2012, and ended it in September 2016. He also drew a one-shot manga for a "Crows Respect" tribute project to Hiroshi Takahashi's Crows manga in 2018.
